Math Labs Sample Lesson

Many jobs require employees to clock in and out to determine how much they will get paid. In this real-life legal case, an employee claims her company is underpaying her because they round the times she clocks in and out. Should she win her case?

Thinkers will use their math skills to decide what side should win. First, thinkers will round employee clock-in and clock-out times, and then they’ll sort the rounded times into categories to determine how often employees are gaining and losing money.

thinkLaw lessons can be taught as a regular, weekly block, as a supplementary resource, or even in those random, hard-to-plan-for spaces like right before a holiday or right after testing season. Our Partner Success team will work with you to find the easiest places to implement thinkLaw across your department, campus, or district.
