We’re so proud of our colleague Holly María Flynn Vilaseca! Tuesday night, Houston ISD Trustee Holly-Maria Flynn Vilaseca successfully avoided a runoff as final returns trickled in. She finished with more than 50 percent of the vote against Robert Lundin and Daniel Albert in District VI.
“Holly-Maria, who is fluent in English and Spanish, worked as a bilingual teacher at HISD’s Windsor Village Elementary School as a Teach for America corps member from 2004 to 2006. Since then, Holly has continued working in the education field with Battelle for Kids, K12 Inc., and thinkLaw:.”- HoustonISD.org
“I am excited to serve the city and students of Houston,” Flynn Vilaseca said.
Holly-Maria Flynn Vilaseca, is scheduled to take the oath of office on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. She is filling an unexpired trustee term that runs through the end of 2017.
