No Longer Gifted: Practical Tools to Stop the Secondary Slide for Gifted Learners

A gifted fifth grader does not become “ungifted” during the summer before sixth grade. Yet, many districts nationwide struggle to provide meaningful gifted programming for secondary learners beyond advanced coursework. This session will give coordinators practical, but powerful ideas to advocate for, design, implement, and sustain secondary gifted programming and reverse the secondary slide in gifted education.

Selective Achievement vs. Selecting to Achieve: Tools for Winning the Motivation Battle

This session focuses on the specific problem of SELECTIVE achievement and gives participants tools to address root causes of inconsistent motivation so we can stop leaving brilliance on the table and create a new reality where gifted learners SELECT to achieve.
